About TNPDA
During the 80’s, until the present team took over the attendance at the AGM used to be around 250+ dealers, now with the District Associations becoming very active under the new team the attendance at the AGM has been phenomenal, with 3500 dealers participating year after year.
Worked with the national association CIPD and represented to the Government and the OMC’s seeking hike in dealer margin and successfully got a decent hike in dealers margin. TNPDA was the first association which got a stay in Madras High court followed by an appeal in Supreme court against the Notified wages of OMC’s. Later TNPDA joined as an intervener in Delhi High court as directed by Supreme court in the Notified wages case. This action of TNPDA was a huge relief to the dealer community and has benefitted all the 65000 dealers of the country.
TNPDA Went on a road show to many districts in the state to strengthen the district associations and make them proactive. Represented to PESO about illegal Bowser sales by certain dealers and got a strong direction against it and directed the district administration to act upon them. TNPDA Conducts dealer awareness program on regular intervals on various topics like PESO rules, GST, TDS, operations of the retail outlets and safety aspects in operation. TNPDA has translated the OMC’s MDG book in Tamil and has distributed to its Members.
TNPDA has introduced an Education sponsorship program from the year 2020, as our staff welfare measure to reward the top ten outperforming children of our RO employees. This scheme is only for Students who have studied in Government schools and scored good marks.
Thus with the support of the office bearers of the state and districts the dream of our founder Sri. A.R. Damodaran Mudaliyar to make TNPDA a role model association has been fulfilled.
